Dr. Kao had an incredible time at the Reproductive Justice Futurism Think Tank Convening which took place at Smith & Amherst Colleges from March 12-14, 2025. She enjoyed learning others about the current state of reproductive and genomic technologies and was also delighted to speak on a storytelling panel on her personal journey with surrogacy.
Earlier, Dr. Kao had had taken part in a a 3-day planning event for this conference in July headed by Loretta Ross (of Smith College) and Jallicia Jolly (of Amherst College). Other participants included included academics, RJ/birth justice movement activists, and others.
