Professor Kao was the co-chair of the 2023 APARRI conference. Held at UC Berkeley from June 20-22, this year’s theme was Envisioning Radical Futures in APA Religions & Communities and featured keynote speaker Gene Luen Yang.
In addition to concurrent paper sessions, work-in-progress workshops, and plenaries on recent publications and on our conference theme, conference attendees shared meals together and also toasted the reprinting of the legendary PACTS reader–Theologies of Asian Americans and Pacific Peoples: A Reader (1976).
