Dr. Kao’s work on surrogacy was prominently featured in a long-form essay by jouranlist Camillo Barone for the National Catholic Reporter entitled “Catholic famlies navigate surrogacy with faith and spiritual discernment.”
In this piece, Barone features several Catholics who have expanded their families through surrogacy and therein defied Catholic social teaching in the process. He references Dr. Kao’s book as a resource for progressive Christian thinking about the practice.
